I Love Painting Commissions!
Home portraits have been popular this year as well as wedding locations. If you are interested in talking with me about a commision, please contact me with your request. I have several examples of commissioned paintings that may be relevant. For example, I just completed painting an elegant antebellum style home for a wedding to be held this fall at The Stallings House in Oriental, N.C.. Earlier this spring, I painted the romantic southern setting of Saint Mary's Chapel in Raleigh, N.C..
How I Approach Commissions
First, let's talk to discuss your commission idea, location and time-of-day; canvas size, colors and any other additional important details. Once I have a fairly good idea of what you are looking for, I'll plan to go on-location to study the light, sketch, and take photos. Most all of my paintings are started on-location, beginning with sketches and photos in case of rain. Once you approve the sketch, I'll start your painting as soon as the sun shines! Finishing time and delivery of your finished commission varies from four to six weeks.
